Leroy is Hi-Level’s Operations Director, with a vast remit and vast reserves of energy to go with it! He began as a fabricator welder, became a fully qualified welding inspector then started his own CE Certified fabrication company supplying mezzanine floors all over Europe. As Hi-Level looks to expand our operations across the continent, Leroy is in the perfect role. His expertise in metallurgy, steel properties and performance of all steel types, combined with deep experience in turnkey solutions that range from installing a mezzanine floor to adding a full contemporary office build, gives him exceptional knowledge within the warehousing sector – all highly valuable for our clients.
Always solving problems
Leroy is a problem solver and firefighter – relishing tackling the new challenges that come every day. “I love being a solution provider,” he says. This covers a huge array of responsibilities, overseeing most departments from the contracts team to the drawing office and the production team, as well as on-site activities.
Working from the office, from home or on site, his main duties are varied: evaluating overall company performance week by week, identifying potential issues ahead, setting strategic goals for the week, promoting company growth, working with his team to plan out programmes for larger projects, going through budgets and financial reports and allocating company resources to manage all projects underway. He could be prioritising resources one day and liaising with other directors about upcoming projects the next.
Always spinning dozens of plates, never dropping any of them and always solving problems … Leroy is a whirlwind!
One-stop shop for turnkey deliveries
He loves turnkey deliveries because as well as the mezzanine, Hi-Level can act as a one-stop shop, becoming a full solution provider with office space, welfare facilities and whatever the client needs. “There’s nothing better than the enjoyment I get from all the preparation and then the business as a whole being able to provide something from nothing,” he says. “It’s fantastic being able to bring a project to fruition, something that has come from just a drawing, from concept to completion definitely provides a level of satisfaction”
When a project is delivered on time, in budget and to the client’s specification, it is very rewarding to be told what a brilliant job we’ve done.
Best value for money
Leroy’s qualifications and the expertise they bring mean clients get the very best value for money.
He is a qualified Responsible Welding Coordinator, so is not only able to fully inspect the welding process during the fabrication that Hi-Level’s production department carries out but provides a quality control check for our customers, offering them peace of mind.
He has the ability to construct and de-construct a mezzanine floor using his mind’s eye avoiding potential issues or clashes before they come to light; this helps to ensure each project runs like clockwork.
He is also qualified with Lean Six Sigma training, which means he knows how to run a business as efficiently as possible. Hi-Level always looks to minimise carbon footprint and waste, allowing us to keep costs competitive whilst offering a first-class service.
