We are delighted to announce that Hi-Level superstar Samantha Blow has been promoted to Production Director.
Sam joined the company as a temp when she was 16. It was a summer job before she went to college, but she made such a great impression that she was offered a full-time role as a receptionist.
She leapt at the chance – and has now been with us for 30 years!
Solving challenges every day
“It’s the people that have kept me at Hi-Level for so long,” she says. “The atmosphere is brilliant, I have such good people around me and together we can solve the challenges that come at us every day. The teamwork is what makes it so much fun.”
Over the past three decades (her actual anniversary will come in May) Sam has been PA to the Finance Director then moved into purchasing before winning promotion to Purchasing and Production Manager.
As Production Director she has set herself a mission to combine ambitious product development with even better delivery for customers.
New products and improved service
“We are looking at new products to diversify and improved service to ensure that delivery matches customer expectations,” she says. “Our new standardisation process will help make sure our customers get the best of both worlds – a competitive price along with products and service at a high standard that keeps them coming back.”
Sam loves the high intensity and fast pace of her work and is proud of the expertise Hi-Level has developed to overcome challenges. “Everybody raves about what we manufacture but supply chain and logistics problems mean every day is a battle and we are constantly firefighting,” she says. “Fortunately our excellent relationship with suppliers and fabricators means we can respond quickly when there is a problem.”
Fast response
An example might be the Hi-Level team delivering a mezzanine floor to a site to find that the customer has not allowed for a height variation, meaning extra material is required.
“We have the ability to turn on a sixpence,” Sam says. “We know from long experience all the potential ways something can go wrong and we keep rolling stock with our suppliers so we can organise a fast response.”
Unrivalled experience
This experience is baked into Hi-Level Mezzanines because so many of our staff have been with us for the long term: 42% have worked here for more than 10 years and 30% of staff have been with us for at least 20 years.
