Against the odds, the brilliant team at Hi-Level Mezzanines have pulled off another fantastic year.
We’ve completed over 330 projects, won a top industry award, welcomed talented new staff, achieved an important accreditation and enthusiastically continued our community work.
We have helped our clients future-proof their businesses by creating more space for them to grow into, particularly when they are installing mezzanines for automation to keep ahead of the competition.
Exceptional service
It hasn’t been easy, as Managing Director Angus Whiteman explains: “2023 has been another challenging year with the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war causing global supply chain disruption. The effect on the steel industry has meant that our team have yet again had to go above and beyond to maintain our usual standards of exceptional service while delivering our client’s projects on schedule.”
He pinpoints the expertise that has allowed us to thrive despite the challenges: “Despite the additional pressures we have faced, overall it has been another fantastic year for Hi-Level with hundreds of mezzanine projects completed for companies across a wide range of sectors. A common theme among our projects this year has been the investment in existing buildings with our clients maximising the space they have available by installing mezzanine floors. We have seen first-hand how our mezzanine solutions are allowing businesses to cope with current demand and future-proof for business growth.
“Our exceptional standard of both product and service has resulted in recognition at several high-profile industry awards this year where we have been proud to be finalists. These awards are a reflection of the work completed by our fantastic team and we are extremely pleased to have recently celebrated our one-year anniversary as an EOT (Employee Owned Trust).”
We are particularly proud to have been crowned winners of the Commerce category of the Core Pillar Awards at the inaugural IWLEX in May and to have been finalists at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards.
We have also achieved SafeContractor accreditation, underlining our commitment to the highest standards.
Project highlights
Project highlights include a two-tier mezzanine floor in Kent that has created over 3400m2 of additional space for our client, and another multi-tier mezzanine in Essex totalling 1600m2 of extra space ready for the installation of new conveyor systems. In Suffolk we have installed 900m2 of additional storage space, perfectly finished with our own range of staircases and pallet gates as well as our signature red and grey edge protection system.
Our team continue to cover the whole of the UK to provide mezzanines for clients everywhere from Aberdeen to Pembroke Docks and Truro to the Golden Triangle and and North West.
Welcoming new talent
We are delighted to have welcomed Kelly Hammond as Projects Administrator, Gerald David as Structural Engineering Estimator, – Christine Bulbeck as Accounts Manager and Ana David as Structural Engineer.
Kelly says: “Since joining Hi-Level earlier this year I have enjoyed learning more about project planning and programming and building relationships with our customers and our project management team. In 2024 I am looking forward to adding to my experience by visiting our project sites and spending time with our drawing office and project managers.”
“It has been amazing joining Hi-Level and having the opportunity to grow in my career,” Gerald says. “I have enjoyed learning new skills, especially estimating and designing of our projects, and have been very grateful of the support I have received from the team.”
Christine says: “I have enjoyed being based in the office and having the opportunity to engage with the team in person. Following previous roles in other areas of construction I am learning more about mezzanines every day! Next year I hope to take on more responsibility within the Finance Team, across a variety of tasks, and play my part in helping the company grow.
Hi-Level and the community
Community is an important part of our company ethos and our 2023 charity and fundraising work included a Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children, donations to Petersfield Food Bank, a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support, a cake sale for the British Red Cross Turkey-Syria Earthquake appeal and our support of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.
